Dr Jill Miscandlon is a Senior Manufacturing Engineer at the National Manufacturing Institute Scotland (NMIS), part of the High Value Manufacturing Catapult. Jill graduated from the University of Strathclyde with a PhD and BSC (Hons) in mathematics before joining the Advanced Forming Research Centre (now a technical centre within NMIS). She worked for 6 years leading large-scale CR&D projects on novel forming processes, such as flow forming and spinning, including the SAMULET (Strategic Affordable Manufacturing in the UK through Leading Environmental Technologies) and Manufacturing Portfolio projects. Jill is currently leading two grand challenges for the EPSRC’s Future Electrical Machines Manufacturing Hub, including developing the work package around sustainable manufacture and circular economy of electrical machines. Jill’s knowledge and expertise also informs and directs the electrification strategy within NMIS and the wider University of Strathclyde community.
Nils Perzborn is manager, engineer and coach. He has many years of professional experience in the automotive business and a wide range of engineering knowledge. Since 2021, he has been Manager System NVH EU at ZF Group, which he joined in 2014. In his current role, he is responsible for the acoustical optimization and validation of steering- and electronic brake control systems. He holds a doctoral degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Technical University Braunschweig.
Dr. Christoph Danzer is the Head of Department for Electrified Powertrain & EDS Development at IAV GmbH, overseeing advanced powertrain systems. With over a decade of experience at IAV, Christoph has led teams in electric drives, systems engineering, and powertrain optimization across a range of vehicle types, from cars to trucks. His expertise spans hybrid topologies, hydrogen, and electric drive structures, as well as life cycle and total cost assessments for modern powertrains. Before assuming his current role in 2023, Christoph served as Team Leader at IAV for nearly 10 years. He holds a Doctorate (Dr.-Ing.) from Technische Universität Chemnitz in mechatronics, robotics, and automation technology, further enhancing his technical depth. His work is driven by a commitment to optimizing sustainability, efficiency, and cost in electrified powertrain systems.
After completing a PhD in computational electromagnetics at Chalmers University of Technology 2004, he started working with electrical machines R&D at ABB Corporate Research, Sweden. From 2012 to 2019, he was with Volvo Group Trucks Technology, where he was appointed specialist in electric traction and electromagnetism. 2019-21 he worked with electric drive hardware systems development at Polestar, and 2022-2023 he held a position as an electric drive hardware expert at Infimotion Technology Europe. At the end of 2023, he joined SEEL, Swedish Electric Transport Laboratory, working with research and methods for electric powertrain development and verification.
