Mel Totman is the Head of Product Management at Rimac Technology, bringing over eight years of specialized experience in battery systems development and project management. In his current role, he leads the strategic development of product portfolio, integrating technology intelligence and platform synergies to deliver innovative solutions while ensuring cost efficiency.
Previously, Mel managed high-profile projects, including the development and launch of battery packs for various automotive manufacturers, notably the Aston Martin Valkyrie, Rimac Concept_One and Robotaxi. His technical leadership has contributed to the successful commercialization of high-performance battery systems. With a deep technical background in engineering, Mel has been instrumental in optimizing battery systems to achieve lightweight, energy-dense and cost-efficient solutions.

From Battery and Vehicle Systems to Torque Vectoring, e-AXLES, Advanced Driver-Assistance System, Infotainment, Connectivity, and UX/UI, Rimac Technology is a full technology solutions provider to global OEMs. Rimac Technology works with almost every car manufacturer in Europe, using its engineering expertise to develop Nevera from the ground up to offer a range of services that take its customers through the entire process. Rimac Technology team can create the concept, engineer it, test it thoroughly with prototypes, begin pre-series production, and – finally – put a product into full serial production with all the quality, reliability, and performance requirements of a major manufacturer in place. Rimac Technology is publicly known to have worked with many global OEMs including Porsche, Hyundai, Kia, CUPRA, Automobili Pininfarina, Koenigsegg, Aston Martin, while many projects are still unknown to the public. Having delivered technology for many small-volume projects in the past years, Rimac Technology is ramping up its production capacity and will be manufacturing 40,000 batteries per year in 2024 – and this is just one of 12 OEM projects currently ongoing, ranging from small hybrid battery systems to full rolling chassis.
