Carsten is the Senior Manager for Electrification Development at Hyundai Motor Europe Technical Center GmbH, where he leads three teams focused on the advanced development of high-voltage components, including batteries, fuel cell systems, and electric drivetrains. With over two decades of experience in the automotive industry, Carsten has specialized in electrification and transmission systems.

Before assuming his current role in January 2024, he managed high-voltage component development teams and was previously the Manager for Transmission Development. His career includes positions as a Senior Research Engineer, where he oversaw manual and automatic transmission development, and earlier roles at NSK Deutschland and GETRAG, where he gained significant expertise in transmission design and customer-facing technical service.

Hyundai Motor Europe Technical Center GmbH (HMETC) is part of the Hyundai Motor Group, which has grown into a leader in Korea’s automobile industry and is amongst the five biggest car manufacturers worldwide. HMETC was opened in 2003 in Russelsheim and its purpose is to make sure that every Hyundai and Kia that comes to Europe meets the demanding standards of the European customer.
